About the project

National Directory of Residential Rehabilitation Services for Scotland is a directory of rehabilitation centres from across Scotland, the site acts as a central HUB allowing users to seek the help they need wether it be close to home or further afield.

Each centre on the site has applied to be shown in the HUB and has been approved by the site owners, each entry shows potential residents what they could hope to achieve, the skill level and experience of staff, facilities available to them and their families if required.

The process

The National Directory of Residential Rehabilitation Services for Scotland website is a relatively new entity at just over a year old, the HUB is starting to gain momentum with more and more centres requesting to be added to it.

The site was completely designed and prototyped in Figma, upon approval it was my job to take this design and create a completely custom WordPress website and theme from it. Figma makes this easier by allowing developers to easily harvest various styles directly as well as pin point accurate sizes and dimensions.

The site build is made up of custom content blocks created via the Advanced Custom Fields plugin, this gives editors and authors access to various pre defined components and content blocks which can be moved around on the page giving them maximum flexability when creating pages and content on the site. The site also boasts quite a comprehensive Google maps integration allowing visitors to search for centres either via a grid or directly on the integrated Google map, each centre also has the ability to display route details to the centre.
